About Scott Underwood
My Client-First Philosophy
There are many qualities and skills that go into being an excellent real estate professional - integrity, in-depth community and market knowledge, marketing savvy, effective negotiation skills and a high-quality professional network, all of which are hallmarks of how I work.
That said, in my experience as a Birmingham real estate professional, I've also found that providing the very best service is essentially about putting my clients first. This means keeping myself accessible, being a good listener as well as a good communicator, and responding quickly to your needs.

This "client first" philosophy has always been my approach and it requires me to continually improve my skills and ways of doing business. In addition, I've found that the latest technologies are enabling me to do everything I've always done, only much more quickly and efficiently. They've also helped me to extend the range of services I provide to my clients.
My real estate career started out as just a hobby. My wife and I had bought and sold several homes early on in our marriage, even one just simply as an investment. On Saturdays and Sundays we would drive around to the different communities and look at houses, just for fun. Soon, our friends were asking us where they should start their home searches because they knew of our strange hobby.
We decided in 1997 to go to real estate school and become “part-time” agents. We did indeed get our license in 1998 and soon realized that real estate was not a part-time job and became full-time realtors in 1999.
In 2001, Riley, our first son was born and Stephanie felt the call to stay home and take care of the little guy. In 2004, our second son, Grayson, was born. Stephanie keeps an active license today and is a great help to me when I am called in two different directions.

I have received numerous awards through out the years including becoming a life member of the club of excellence and receiving Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum awards for sales by the Birmingham Association of Realtors. I have also been awarded top honors year after year by the Birmingham Association of Home Builders for top sales in new homes.
Okay, so enough about my real estate career right? What about me personally?
I grew up in Alabaster, in Shelby County and attended all 12 years at Thompson High School. I met Stephanie in the 7th grade and we were married in 1995 only after truly dating about 6 months. I have 2 boys, Riley (3rd Grade) and Grayson (K5). I love being a dad and a husband.

Stephanie, the boys and I attend Hunter Street Baptist Church were I am honored to serve as a deacon. I also am the Pack Committee Chairman for the cub scouts that are Chartered at Hunter Street. This really is a ministry. Stephanie and I have been attending church here for nearly 20 years.
I also serve as a commissioner for The City of Hoover’s Planning and Zoning Board.
My two boys love boating and skiing, so when we do have time away from work we are on a lake somewhere if the weather is pretty.

I hope this helps you guys get to know me better. I would love to answer any other questions you might have about me and my abilities as your realtor.
